As you can read, this hand reminds the students about

what to do when I say "Give Me 5":

*eyes on teacher

*mouth closed

*hands and feet still

*ears listening

I use this as one of my attention getters. 

I also use a simple clapping pattern that the kids must repeat and then freeze and look at me for further instructions.
