*Transfer Words: transferring the words the students KNOW on the word wall to create new and unknown words. Example--find stop on the word wall and use its pattern to spell drop. The words are in plain site on our word wall, but must be found and the right sounds deleted (st) and added (dr) to create the new word.
**Please practice these words so that your child can read them instantly. Flash cards are added each week with the new words on them. Keep these in the back zipper pocket and use them at your convenience! Spelling tests start second quarter. Students will be expected to spell the current week's words correctly from memory. After that, they are put on the wall and must be spelled correctly in daily writing.
